1925

Born in Dortmund/Germany as the son of a Dutch father
and a German mother.

1926

The Family emigrated to Brussels.

1930

Where he – already in the age of five – discovered the joy of painting.

1938

The family moved back to Oberhausen/Germany, where O.Bleeker later graduated from High School.

1943

O.Bleeker was drafted as a soldier to fight at the Western front,

1945 - 1947

until he became imprisioned for 2 years in Rennes/France.

1950

As an undergraduate student O.Bleeker visited: Paris – Provence – Brussels – Venice – Rome – Tuscany – Florence – Naples – Barcelona – Mallorca – Ibiza – Guatemala – Mexico – here O.Bleeker got his inspirations.

1952

O.Bleeker continued his study at Lerchenfeld Art Academy, Hamburg.

1954

Furthermore he studied sculpture in Paris.

1981

O.Bleeker and his wife, Antje, opened their own art-gallery
“DIE PORTRAIT-GALERIE” OTFRIED BLEEKER in Kampen/Sylt.
After a short interlude in Spain they moved back to the German island Sylt to reopen their art-gallery in Keitum/Sylt.

2009

O.Bleeker passed away.
Through his great personality and his stunning work of art he will live forever in the hearts of all people who met him.

Otfried Bleeker prefered to present
his work in his own gallery.
With his charisma he attracted people like
a magnet. He loved and enjoyed it to maintain a personal contact with his clientele.
